5ONE Foundation understands schools cannot educate our children by themselves. Students need the support of parents, families, communities, friends, role-models, and mentors in order to be fully successful. Good teachers and administrators are invaluable to the educational process, but we must understand that the school system simply reinforces and expands what children already know when they come to school. The importance of what happens in the home and the community is key in establishing the foundation for educational success in young people. 5ONE Foundation knows and understands that active and involved parents, families, communities are necessary to educate children, therefore we provide a nonprofit mentorship for both students and parents alike in our community.

5ONE Foundation is dedicated to the academic, athletic, and personal development of the diverse youth of our community. We encourage student and family involvement through various educational and athletics outreach programs. These programs aim to instill our core values of integrity, resilience, ambition, discipline, and commitment in students in an effort to develop prosperous members of society.

Founded in 2011 by a group of childhood friends, 5ONE Foundation became a vision to combat negative influences and break the cycle of poor effort and poor performance in the youth of their hometown community, Hickory, NC. The idea for the foundation grew out of conversations about the state of their community and the need for positive male (and female) role models willing to assist in the development of young people while building bridges for them to reach their dreams. The founders pooled the various resources they had and decided to put together a program to instill confidence into young people and place them on a track for success. The 5ONE Foundation consists of both academic through reading literacy and athletic programs that allow students to set attainable goals and consistently work to feel the success of achieving them.
